We Turn Our Heart to the Lord for Transformation unto New Jerusalem (2)

Second Corinthians 3:16-18, “Whenever their heart turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. And the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. But we all with unveiled face, beholding and reflecting like a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, even as from the Lord Spirit.”

Until the Lord returns, His glory is not physically manifest. We behold His glory by turning our heart to the Lord and exercising our regenerated human spirit.

New JerusalemVerse 18 indicates that we need to behold the Lord with an unveiled face. Originally, our face was veiled, but many of us today have unveiled faces. This means that our heart has turned to the Lord so that the veil has been taken away, and the Lord as the Spirit has freed us from the bondage, the veiling, of the law, so that there is no more insulation between us and the Lord. Now with an unveiled face we look at the Lord. The more we look at the Lord, the more He secretes the resurrected life over our being. While we are looking at the Lord, we are being transformed.*

The turning to the Lord, unveiling, freedom, beholding and reflecting the Lord, and transformation all bring us onward toward New Jerusalem, the city of glory. We are being transformed from the natural image of the fallen Adamic race to the glory of the Lord! This is the work of the Spirit in us in response to our cooperation in turning to the Lord and beholding His glory.
