Christ Redeemed Us out of the Curse

Christ RedeemedRevelation 22:3a declares, “And there will no longer be a curse.” On the sixth day God created man for His purpose and blessed man and said that everything was “very good” (Genesis 1:26-31). Not long after, man fell, sin entered, and death entered through sin (Romans 5:12, 14), and God placed man under the curse (Genesis 3:17).

The good news about this is in Galatians 3:13, “Christ has redeemed us out of the curse of the law, having become a curse on our behalf; because it is written, ‘Cursed is every one hanging on a tree’.” Today we have the redemption completed by Christ. Hence, we who have believed into Christ are no longer under a curse.

In the new heaven and new earth the devil, the source of sin, and death, the outcome of sin, will have been cast into the lake of fire (Revelation 20:10, 14). Since there will be no more devil, no more sin, and nor more death, there will be no curse in the new creation and no curse in New Jerusalem. Abundant thanks and praise to our Redeemer!
