Christ is our Center

people in London need Christ as lifeRevelation 21:1 says, “And I saw a new heaven and a new earth.” The New Testament gives us little information about the new heaven and new earth—its goal is not to convey information but to present Jesus Christ and to bring us to Him.

Revelation 19:10 says, “the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of the prophecy.” The Bible is God’s speaking, God’s prophecy, to us, and the spirit, the motivation, the intention, of both the Old Testament and the New is to present Jesus Christ.

He the focal point of the Bible and He should be the focus of our Christian life. Here are some verses about Jesus Christ being our center:
John 3:15  “every one who believes into Him may have eternal life”
Ephesians 4:15 “we may grow up into Him in all things, who is the Head, Christ”
Hebrews 12:1-2  “let us…run with endurance the race which is set before us, looking away unto Jesus, the Author and Perfecter of our faith”
Philippians 1:21  “to me, to live is Christ”
1 John 2:28  “abide in Him”
1 John 3:2  “we will be like Him because we will see Him even as He is”

Humanly we may desire to learn more about new heaven, new earth, and New Jerusalem. However, God wants us to look away unto Jesus. The main thing we look forward to in New Jerusalem is a great enrichment and great expansion of our current relationship with Him.

  1. Amen! Christ is NOT ONLY the center of both the Old and the New Testament but He is also OUR center! God the Father gives us ONLY CHRIST, His Beloved – we should Hear Him!

This Christ needs to be our center and our everything – in a practical and daily way, applying Him to all our situations by simply turning to Him and, as I recently am discovering, by praying short and living prayers like, Lord, I love You. I take You right now as my center. Amen, Christ is my center!
