In Revelation 22:1 John says, “he showed me a river of water of life, bright as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb in the middle of its street.” The throne is of both God and Christ the redeeming Lamb. Where is the Spirit? The Spirit is portrayed by the river (see these posts ◉ ◉ ◉). Here is the Triune God at the center of New Jerusalem.
The Triune God is also revealed at the beginning of Revelation. In 1:4-5 we are blessed with “Grace to you and peace from Him who is and who was and who is coming, and from the seven Spirits who are before His throne, and from Jesus Christ, the faithful Witness, the Firstborn of the dead, and the Ruler of the kings of the earth.” Here we see the Father—who is, was, and is coming, the Spirit, and Jesus Christ. The Triune God is a marvelous three-one Person, indescribably rich and unsearchably vast. Consider Revelation 1:4-6, 22:1, Matthew 28:19, and 2 Corinthians 13:14. Every time this wonderful Triune Person is mentioned, the description is different because this Person is so wonderful and is not limited to a descriptive formula.
Grace and peace are flowing to us from the Triune God to supply us with all the divine riches, for our growth and transformation into His image that we may become part of New Jerusalem.
